I was fortunate enough to see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers perform at Madison Square Garden the other night. I own every Tom Petty album ever recorded, but this was my first time seeing him live. I had heard that he was one of the best live performers in the AARP club… and he didn't let me down. Aside from The Beach Boys and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, was there ever a better American group?

Highlights included Mary Jane's Last Dance, A Face In The Crowd, Mystic Eyes, a surprise performance of The Traveling Wilburys classic End of The Line, and a rousing rendition of Gimme Some Lovin' with Steve Winwood.
